Welcome to the website of St. George’s Orthodox Church, Vettikkunnel, Vakathanam
Located near Pottachira Road, Ponganthanam, our historic church was established in 1904 and was rebuilt in 1992. It was the first church consecrated after the formation of Kottayam Diocese of Malankara Orthodox Church.
Today, over 130 families are members of the parish and devotedly take part in the liturgical traditions of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.
